2014 LOOKS TO BE A PROMISING YEAR FOR LAS VEGAS! January 7, 2014 by Don Kuhl We are starting the year off with construction projects across the valley in full swing. After many years of little to no progress this is a great sign of change. Just a few of the most notable projects are: SLS Vegas – SBE Entertainment’s complete overhaul of the Sahara estimated at $415 million with 1,600 rooms, a dozen restaurants and clubs, and a 60,000 sf casino The Linq – Caesar’s Entertainments new $550 million venue including the new High Roller ferris wheel. New pedestrian friendly retail and restaurants will make this a popular spot. MGM Resorts International’s outdoor pedestrian mall located between New York-New York and Monte Carlo, which will ultimately serve as the entrance to a new 20,000 seat arena. Grand Bazaar Shops – Juno Property Group’s 60,000 sf of retail located at the entrance of Bally’s. Resorts World Las Vegas – Genting Group’s megaresort located across from The Wynn on the previous site of the Stardust should get underway this year. The Shops at Summerlin – With over 1.5 million sf of retail and restaurants, this 100+ acre retail center is going up fast after four years of dormancy. It helps to see progress in action and hopefully there is more to come getting Las Vegas back on its feet again and 2014 set to be a record year!
